We arrived 25 min before they closed and there was not even a hint that they didn't want us to sit and eat.  Every person on the staff was very courteous.  I saw how they treated other customers and they're very good at making their customers feel like friends.

The atmosphere is just as you'd expect an authentic bbq place to be. You can even see them smoking the pork behind the bar. No, it did not feel dirty or smoky inside.  It was very neat and clean.  Even the men's bathroom was very clean!

The food? DELICIOUS!!! I enjoyed each of their 4 signature sauces!  They have a sauce for anyone.

I had the pulled pork sandwich, fries, and baked beans.  Dang, I'm getting hungry thinking about it!  It was served fresh and hot.

    I'd love to visit again!

Oh, the prices were very reasonable.  My sandwich and two sides was $9.99.

Food was better than average. Had ribs and brisket with collard greens and Brunswick Stew. Ribs were really good and brisket a little dry for me but still tasty.  Brunswick Stew needed some work for my tastes, I'd call it vegetable soup.

What was just AWESOME was how friendly the workers were. Tatted up black guy was the kitchen boss or pit boss and I heard him tell the others that I'd not been there before and to take care of me. Boy did they! They gave me sausage samples, poured a gallon of tea down me, checked on me constantly and each one went out of there way to ask me how it was and ask me to come back. Very impressive.  Would be in one of the top customer experiences in my 50+ years of eating out. Probably had some better in the 70's and 80's but can't remember much from then. .

    Give these guys a try!

Stopped by on a weekday for lunch. The takeout window was busy and the dining area short staffed. Only one waitress taking care of around 7-8 tables so we stood for a while before anyone even talked to us.

Food is amazing and I like the fact that it's not drowned and you have your options of 4 sauces on the table. Being health conscious, I like my bbq naked and salad with no dressings so I had a satisfying and light lunch even at a bbq place.

Ribs and chicken were smoked perfectly with really tender meat and crispy outside. Salad portion was also bigger than I expected with a generous amount of turkey. Will definitely return to try their wings and sandwiches.

My first trip to Bono's was a good experience.

Smoke was coming from the chimney of the restaurant. That is always a good sign; it usually means the meat is cooked in a pit on the site where it is served.

The atmosphere is comfortable. There are plenty of American flags in various sizes, shapes and designs. There is also a copy of the Pledge of Allegiance posted and a God Bless America sign. Most regular patrons of BBQ restaurants in the Southern U.S. will feel at home here.

The BBQ pork was moist and tasted good. The ribs, which we tried as a sample, was also excellent. The special of the day was fried catfish. It was cooked to a golden brown, not overcooked, and served very hot. The Brunswick Stew as a side item is a good touch and not always served in BBQ places. I highly recommend it!

Service was also good. "Munchkin" did a good job of keeping the tea glasses filled, bringing us a "to go" tea and making sure we had everything we needed to have a good experience.

Bono's is worth a trip for any BBQ pork or other BBQ items.

I have been craving barbecue for almost a week now.... Or, maybe it has been since Matt, our amazing Jax CM, started the TALK about the best barbecue place in town a few months ago.

Well... I found out that Bono's has been around for a veeeerryyyy long time.

During my visit to Bono's, today, I ordered.... yes... I am a bit wimpy when it comes to barbecue. Don't judge me! LOL! I ordered their turkey platter with their sweet barbecue sauce and a side of collard greens and an additional side of macaroni and cheese. Hey!! I said no judging!!! LOL! I have to watch my physique... well maybe just a little (as I stuff a barbecue drenched sliver of turkey in my mouth) LOL!

Furthermore, as I was trying to peel my eyes off of the mouth-watering menu selections, I noticed how fast their service and the food quality was on point. The restaurant appeared as clean as a barbecue pit could ever be.

    I will... be back!!!
